Students rising to grades 2 – 5 in fall 2013 are welcome to attend Art Camp at the Meadows Museum this summer. You can download the brochure with registration form here

Daily Studio Activities Schedule

*8:30 – 9:15 AM: Early drop off for young artists’ yoga and campus hikes

9:15 – 9:30 AM: Students arrive

9:40 AM: Studio activities commence
            ●studio introduction
            ●activity overview
            ●project discussion and questions

10:15 AM:
            ●students begin studio projects
            ●ongoing teacher-student    discussions

11:15 AM:
            ●daily studio wrap-up
            ●studio clean-up

11: 30 AM:
            **●snacks
            ●recess as weather permits

NOON: Students depart

*Parents who need to drop off young artists prior to work may do so from 8:30 -9:15 AM; an extra $20.00 fee added to the total weekly cost.
**Snacks provided: fruit, popcorn, ice cream and popsicles PARENTS MUST NOTIFY STAFF ABOUT STUDENTS’ ALLERGIES. Students may pack their own snack bags.

Art Camp Schedule of Sessions

June 3-7: Session 1, Grades 4 and 5

Colorful Creations with Yvonne Chaffin

We’ll study color and create secondary colors by mixing watercolor and tempera!  Next, we’ll apply our color knowledge to paint a Rolling Hills Landscape, Sunset Silhouette, Expressive Abstracts, and Color on the Wing, a tropical bird painting.

June 10-14: Session 2, Grades 2 and 3

Creature Design with Mark Burt

We’ll draw and manipulate basic 2-D shapes on paper to prepare for creating an imaginary 3-D creature of our own!

June 17-21: Session 3, Grades 4 and 5

Fast & Furious, Nadine Charity & Kathryn Usher

Let’s explore the world of transportation! We’ll design and paint cars, motorcycles, bikes, skateboards and boats. Extra bonus: blow up our creations!

June 24-28: Session 4, Grades 1, 2 and 3

Bedazzled, Nadine Charity & Kathryn Usher

Get ready to sparkle! From royal crown jewels to rock star sunglasses, we’ll explore and model all!

July 8-12: Session 5, Grades 3, 4 and 5

LA Art Shack, Nadine Charity & Kathryn Usher

We’ll create Louisiana artist-inspired works of art. Next, get ready for a big yard art sale with family and friends under the tent on the final day of Art Camp!

Summer Art Camp Registration

Summer Art Camp is $125 per session and includes materials and snacks. Cost inclusive of early morning drop-off is $145. Complete the form and mail it with a check payable to Meadows Museum to:
